Audio/Video Files

american dream (video, spoken voice and sound) 2005

Video-Lane Cooper.

A short video/sound piece that examines the love affair that America has with it's automobiles, regardless of what is lost.

sum of zero(video, spoken voice and sound) 2004, video added 2005

Collaborative work with visual/text artist Lane Cooper.

Originally conceived of as part of a public event in Barcelona, Spain, The Sum of Zero explores issues of war and exists as an expression of grief. It responds specifically to the contradictions that exist between the reasons for war and the inconceivable brutality of that human undertaking. The artists recorded individuals speaking in various languages, including English, Spanish, Hebrew, and Arabic, and creating a work that explores the order and disorder in our world.

In its current form, it was recently part of the Dissent:Political Voices, SPACES Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio. There is an online catalog where you can view all of the pieces as well as artist bios.

semiosis (video, spoken voice and sound) 2003, video 2005

Collaboration with installation artist Charles Tucker and text/visual artist Lane Cooper

Semiosis explores the potent symbol of the cruciform. As an installation, the piece uses dramatic lighting, hanging fabrics, delicate prints, and sound to poetically reveal and deconstruct the changing meanings of this pervasive sign.
